Workshop Content:

Because of the extended videotaped practice, class size is limited to 10 participants. Additional participants will require a second instructor.


Unit 1: Course Overview and Introduction

  • Introductions: one-minute introduction is the first presentation
  • Personal objective setting
  • Likes and dislikes

Unit 2: Presentation Basics

  • Butterflies and what to do
  • From nervous to natural: delivery techniques and ‘tricks of the trade’’
  • Practice two-minute impromptu presentation with peer feedback

Unit 3: Planning the Presentation

  • Steps to plan an effective presentation
  • Close it right: how to end your presentation
  • Using the tools of the trade: notes and visual aids
  • Practice five-minute presentation with peer and instructor feedback

Unit 4: Presenter's Toolkit

  • Presentation skills checklist
  • Presentation template
  • Individual development plan
  • Difficult situation strategies

Workshop includes: One 5-minute minute practice presentation with recorded feedback and critique, an opportunity to set an individual development plan for review with manager, and a Presentation Planning Template for future use.
