Unit 1: Use Adult Learning in a Virtual Environment
- Use adult learning concepts in e-learning
- Apply five steps of adult learning to virtual training
- Discover questions to ask at each of the five adult learning steps
- Identify your e-Facilitator style using an exclusive inventory
- Select methods for the best learning experiences for e-learners
- Identify how much practices is needed to learn a skill
- Pace methods to avoid boredom
Unit 2: E-facilitator Roles and Skills
- Explore e-facilitator roles
- Practice ten facilitation skills that translate from the classroom to e-learning
- Identify options for virtual introductions
- Give directions and set up learning activities
- Compensate for lack of face-to-face contact
- Demonstrate tools and tips to increase interaction and participation
- Use questions effectively to improve understanding
- Develop off air assignments and other options
Unit 3: E-facilitation Pitfalls and Solutions
- Identify pitfalls and determine how to overcome them
- Learn when to depart from your prepared plan
- Explore netiquette and problem learner strategies
Unit 4: Prepare to Facilitate an e-Learning Event
- Create the event script or road map for the learning event
- Get materials to the right people
- Connect with the virtual learner
- Orient the learner to the technology
- Use tools to promote interaction
- Issues with troubleshooting and technical support
- Evaluate learners and monitor progress
