TRAINING SUBORDINATES: ON-THE-JOB TRAINING
a two-day workshop
This workshop helps develop on-the-job training techniques to improve employee performance.  Uses the 4 step method of instruction (plan, present, try-out performance and follow-up evaluation).  Identify the strengths and weaknesses of your style by teaching a sample lesson.  Identify what helps others learn.  Apply adult learning concepts in a non-threatening manner.

Unit 3:  Plan for On-the-Job Training

Who needs training?
6 easy steps to break down a task into its teachable parts
How to set training objectives that are realistic and attainable

Unit 4: Relate to the Learner 

Select the appropriate methods
Determine how much practice is required to learn a skill
Practice a pacing technique to avoid boredom
How to begin an OJT session
A 4-step method to conduct effective demonstrations
Use basic questions to increase participation and “discovery” learning
Paraphrase to clarify understanding
How to correct errors and give "constructive criticism"
How to coach learners one-on-one
Maintain employee self esteem
Special concerns for teaching with "live" equipment
Evaluate your efforts

Unit 5: Participant Practice 

Each participant demonstrates competency by conducting a practice session and receives feedback from peers and the instructor.
